Google has announced major changes to its Workspace Business and Enterprise plans, making Gemini, its advanced AI assistant, an integral part of the offerings. The move eliminates the expensive add-on previously required to access Gemini, replacing it with a lower, flat price included directly in the plans.
A New Pricing Model for Gemini
Previously, users had to pay an additional $20 or more per user per month to access the full Gemini experience. Gemini is now included by default in the Workspace Business and Enterprise plans, but with a slight increase in base costs.
Here are some examples:
• The Workspace Business Standard plan, previously $12 per user/month, is moving to $14, now including Gemini. Previously, a user would have to pay $32 per month to get both the plan and the Gemini add-on.
• Small business customers will not see a price change, but will still have access to Gemini features.
All new customers can already see the effect of these changes by signing up for a new plan. Those who already had one will see the changes apply from next March 17 or the next renewal date of the annual plan.
Integrated Gemini Features
With this integration, Workspace Business (Standard and Plus) and Enterprise plan users will have access to Gemini Advanced 1.5 Pro. Which offers powerful AI tools across:
• Gmail, to generate personalized responses;
• Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, to improve productivity and organization;
• Meet, Chat and Vids, for more dynamic collaboration;
• NotebookLM Plus, to create personalized Gems and manage documents more intelligently.
No impact on other plans
The changes only affect the Workspace Business and Enterprise plans. Users of the Individual, Education, Nonprofit plans and consumer accounts will not be subject to changes, neither in price nor in functionality.
Those who purchased the Gemini add-on for Workspace will continue to use it at no additional cost after January 31, 2025. This confirms Google’s intent to improve the entire platform based on Gemini, increasingly at the center of every project.https://youtu.be/Cur1AkkrZCw?si=QiAM7bOtAOz3xGJJ
